MORNING LIVESTOCK OUTLOOK
Packers were looking for cattle on Friday and buying stronger for cattle delivered in 2 weeks. They have gone through their own cattle and contract cattle and now they will need to buy more open market cattle to fill out the September kill.
Hog market seemed to get a bit of excitement last week seeing China the largest buyer of pork on weekly net sales. But it was to be expected when China released close to the same amount from their own storage that they replace it. This has been happening around major holidays and with the national peoples holiday beginning the first week of October, time will tell if China continues to buy or was it just to replace storage. Likely the latter.
