Light Volume on Report Day

September is a month when retail beef slows and so far has been a fairly normal month. There is a lot of nervousness from COVID to the global economy.  As reported on  Wednesday, global beef supplies and  global competition to sell beef is going to be a large part of fundamentals ahead. Traders waiting for today’s Cattle on Feed Report

There wasn’t much change in the Pork Carcass price from last week’s 5 day average.  Pork sales were light through the week but other than some daily ups and downs on some primal cuts, mostly hams,  daily pork steady helped profit margins for the packer with hog prices were down. Expect another light volume trading day as traders wait for the Hogs and Pigs report.
