CATTLE COMPLEX
First notice day for Feb 2025 live cattle is February 10, 2025. Tuesday’s higher futures prices were simply futures converging with cash. Trade volume was active. Spread traders continue to bull spread.
PORK COMPLEX
The difference between the CME Lean Hog Index and the CME Pork Cutout at $9.57 puts packers with a positive margin. Compared to week ago as of January 25, 2025 pork production was down 5.4% and compared to a year ago it was down year to date 8.2%.
