MORNING LIVESTOCK FUTURES OUTLOOK
CATTLE COMPLEX
The United States will have fewer cattle. It would help to bring back feeder cattle from Mexico, but feeders coming from Mexico weigh between 600 to 900 pounds and even if 900 pound feeders started coming in September, they would need 4 to 5 months at a minimum to finish.
Feeder cattle prices are going to depend on previously contracted needs. Contract feedlots and packer owned feedlots know the inventory they need to fill contracts.
PORK COMPLEX
October lean hogs are $12.36 under the CME Lean Hog Index as of August 29, 2025. For the week ending august 29, 2025 the CME Lean Hog Index was down $1.89. The CME Pork Cutout Index was down $1.56.
