MORNING LIVESTOCK OUTLOOK
Packers paid $2 to $4 more this week. Highest prices in the Midwest. Highest prices given to cattle with finish and weight. So far, packers buying a small amount from showlist.
Is it normal to have a spread between the CME Lean Hog Index at $120.73 and July 2021 Lean Hogs at $104.52? Yes and No. As I have pointed out for several years, it is June 23,2021 and there is not a spot month until hogs are trading in July and actually to settlement when spot July 2021 goes off the board.
