Oct Cattle Most Actively Traded Month

MORNING LIVESTOCK FUTURES OUTLOOK

LIVE CATTLE

Live Cattle closed the week out lower.  August live cattle settled the week down $1.45 and October the most actively traded month was down $2.85. Cash cattle were $2.00 to $3.00 lower with packers discounting the percentage of choice to select in loads most cattle in the Midwest sold from $190.00 to $191.00.  The biggest price drop were dressed prices from  $296.00 to $301.00.

LEAN HOGS

August hogs went off the board on august 14th at $90.10 and October was $14.17 under it.  October is now the lead month and speculators will dominated trading. Hog slaughter compared to the same period a year ago is  up 1,011,680 hogs. Going forward there will be more hogs.
