MORNING LIVESTOCK FUTURES OUTLOOK
CATTLE COMPLEX
With the lower cattle slaughter and with high employment, beef usage should remain at least the same for the holiday season from office events to the home chef. Beef wholesalers and brokers have historical data. Projections for beef needs for 2024 should have the majority of beef already contracted. Increased beef imports in 2024 have and do weigh on prices.
PORK COMPLEX
Volume on Monday was light. Bear spreads narrowed a bit and December narrowed to October.
Slaughter and weights should start to go up as more roads are passable in the southeast. Depending on Hurricane Milton, and how the southeast will be affected this week could make a big difference.
