Good Pork Exports So Far in 2023

MORNING LIVESTOCK OUTLOOK

Thursday on early sales the pork carcass was up 2 cents.  The 5 day carcass average has been averaging around $85.00. Ribs, butts and bellies have been what may be called the strength in the market but when kill like today increases, the market hasn’t the power to move higher.  Good exports so far in 2023 have kept pork from falling.

With February 2023 Live Cattle off the board, speculators have taken control. Live Cattle futures made contract highs and now likely will see a downturn in March.  Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold steady to 4.00 higher  The supply of feeders was moderate and demand remains good to very good.
