AFTERNOON COMMENTS

The Drought Monitor Map is looking nearly blank for the major growing ares. Northern North Dakota, parts of Nebraska and pieces of Illinois and Indiana are barely dry.

The Next 10 Days of Precip:

EIA Weekly Ethanol Production And Corn Usage

For Week Ending 7/25/2025

Ethanol Production increased 18,000 barrels per day week-over-week to 1.096M barrels per day. During last week’s production 109M bushels of corn were used.  This makes the 9th straight week of more than enough corn used to meet the USDA’s estimate of 5.5 billion bushels. They will likely need to raise that estimate in the August 12th report.

EIA Weekly Ethanol Stocks

Ethanol Stocks are historically high for this time of year and the highest in 6 weeks at 24.7M barrels. There is chatter that the reason for higher than normal stocks is the sellers are holding on to more while anticipating an improvement to exports soon.

Weekly Export Sales

Export Sales were mostly neutral to bullish corn and beans, with 24/25 soybean meal the only product that fell short. Wheat also had 38,000 MT sales on the books for 2026/2027 marketing year.
